Talk about rapid-fire. Apple released the sixth beta for iOS 11.4 on Thursday, May 17. The update comes just three days after the release of iOS 11.4 beta 5, indicating that Apple is readily approaching the official release of the software. Apple has not issued an official iOS update since 11.3.1, which found its way to users over three weeks ago.You can download the new update right now if you're an iOS developer or public beta tester with a valid configuration profile. Just open the Settings app, tap on "General," then select "Software Update." Finally, follow the on-screen instructions to download and install iOS 11.4 beta 6 onto your iPhone.The iOS 11.4 beta 6 is the third beta release in a row to not provide resolved developer fixes and patches. Apple lists known issues the company has not yet resolved and provides workarounds for the issues if they exist:FoundationClients of NSURLSessionStreamTask that use a non-secure connection fail to connect when an error occurs during PAC file evaluation and the system is configured for either Web Proxy Auto Discovery (WPAD) or Proxy Automatic Configuration (PAC). Online shopping is convenient, comfortable, and a blessing ... right? Well, it can also be a headache.If you do the majority of your shopping from different online retailers, it's easy to lose track of the packages being delivered to you. It's important to know when a delivery is going to be delayed or whether you need to be at home to sign for it, which is why you need a centralized hub to keep an eye on them. Arrive, a project from Shopify, solves this problem by allowing you to track all of your packages, across all online retailers, in one place.

Step 1: Install ArriveTo get started, install Arrive from the App Store. The service is only available in the US and Canada for now, but to install it, you can either search for it in the App Store app, or you can tap the link below from your iPhone.App Store Link: Arrive (free)

Step 2: Sign InNow, open Arrive and you'll be asked to log in. You can do this in one of two ways: sign in with Google or sign in with your email. If you sign in with Google, Arrive automatically searches through your emails and pulls active tracking numbers to help you find deliveries. When it finds a tracking number, the delivery appears in the app.If you decide on this sign in method, tap on "Sign in with Google," choose your Gmail account, and grant the app access to your messages and settings by tapping on "Allow." Although Arrive promises to keep "your private information safe and secure," you may not want it to have access to your emails, which is why you can use the second method. You can also choose to sign in with your email (including Gmail), but without giving Arrive access to your account. To do this tap on "Sign in with email" on the first page and enter your email address. A confirmation email will be sent to you. Tap on "Open email app" to be redirected, find the confirmation email, and tap on "Confirm email address." Arrive won't have access to your email account, which means you'll have to add tracking numbers manually.

Step 3: Add a DeliveryIf you granted Arrive access to your email, deliveries made with accounts tied to that email address should appear in the app automatically, although not all of them will. If Arrive has issues finding all of your deliveries, or you didn't give the app access to your email, you must manually add deliveries.To add a delivery, tap on the large plus (+) sign at the top-right of the application. Enter your tracking number, give the delivery a name, and select your carrier. Arrive has over 400 carriers to choose from, domestic and international. When you're done entering the information, tap on "Add a delivery" at the bottom of the page. The delivery will then appear in a card on the home page. If you copy a tracking number to your clipboard and go into Arrive, it will detect that you want to add a new delivery and make this process even easier.

Step 4: Track Your DeliveriesTracking your deliveries through Arrive is simple: tap on a delivery card and check out real-time tracking of your package. On the map, you can see where your package currently is. If you tap on the card coming up from the bottom of the map, you can see more detailed information about your delivery. Tap on "Details" on the top-right to view the service providers (retailer and delivery service), product details, and order details. If there is something wrong with your delivery, you can contact your delivery service through here. If the retailer where you purchased your product from has integration with Shopify (Apple, Target, Nike, etc.), you'll be able to contact them as well from this page. Once your package is delivered, you can swipe left on the delivery card to archive it.

Step 5: Adjust Settings (Optional)If you want to go into your settings, tap on the profile icon on the top-left of Arrive's home page. Here, you can access email accounts attached to Arrive, archived deliveries, and notifications. In "Accounts," you can automate your Google account (if you didn't do that when you first logged in) and add additional Google email accounts if you use multiple email addresses when ordering online.
Deactivating Your AccountIf you want to delete your Arrive account, send an email to bye@tryarrive.com. According to their FAQ, it can take up to 30 days for your account to be deleted. However, this does not remove Arrive from your Gmail account. Giving you the ability to lock your device without having to fuss with a PIN or password every time you go to use it, the feature is definitely one of the device's main selling points, especially now that you can use it to unlock individual apps.But that doesn't mean the interface couldn't use a little sprucing up on occasion, does it? With nearly 5 months passing since the GS5's release, many folks might want to get a fresh look going on their lock screen.Developer kimdalanxa combed through the visual assets of the S5's fingerprint scanner interface, and created a set of themes that can be applied to liven things up. Step 1: Enable Fingerprint LockThis wouldn't be much fun without the actual fingerprint scanner lock screen enabled, so let's take care of that part first. Head to your phone's Settings, then tap Lock Screen to begin. After that, choose Screen Lock from the next menu. From here, select Fingerprint as your lock screen security type. Follow the prompts to register your fingerprint, and you'll be all set to move on to the next step.

Step 2: Choose Your ThemeAs I said, there are multiple themes for you to choose from. Below, you'll find screenshots of 5 of my favorites, with download links to their respective flashable ZIP files located beneath the images. The remainder of the themes can be found on the creator's thread.When you've found the look that suits you best, just tap the download link from your Galaxy S5's web browser. Step 3: Boot into Custom RecoveryWith your theme file downloaded, you can now boot into your custom recovery to apply it.The process of booting into a custom recovery varies depending on your device model. If you're using an AT&T or Verizon variant of the Galaxy S5, start by rebooting your phone. After the Samsung Galaxy S5 logo appears, tap the Recovery button in the lower left-hand corner to boot into Safestrap. For all other variants, begin by turning your phone completely off. When the screen goes black, press and hold the Power, Home, and Volume Up buttons simultaneously. After a few seconds, your custom recovery will come right up.

Step 4: Apply the ThemeThe screenshots below depict this process using Safestrap Recovery, which uses TWRP's interface. If you're using PhilZ Touch or ClockworkMod recovery, the wording of the specific functions may not be identical, but the process of installing your theme will be the same overall.From the main screen, tap Install, then browse to the Download folder on your internal SD Card. Next, select the theme file that you just downloaded, then swipe the slider at the bottom of the screen to install it. For ClockworkMod or PhilZ Touch users, simply tap Yes to install the theme. When that's finished, head back to the main screen of your Custom Recovery and select Advanced. From here, choose Fix Permissions, then confirm your choice by swiping the slider at the bottom of the screen (or tapping Yes in CWM or PhilZ). With that out of the way, simply reboot your phone to try out your new theme.
Reverting Back to the Stock Fingerprint ThemeIf you decide that you'd like to switch back to the stock theme at some point, I've made a ZIP file that will revert all of these changes. Step 2: Delete the Settings ODEX FileBefore installing any of these theme ZIPs, you'll need to delete a single file on your system. Use a root-enabled file browser to navigate to the /system/priv-app/ folder, then head to the "Settings" folder inside of it. From here, navigate to the "arm" folder, then long-press the "Settings.odex" file and select "Delete."

Step 3: Reboot to RecoveryWith the ODEX file deleted, it's time to boot into custom recovery so that you can flash the themes. Start by powering your Nexus 5 completely off. When the screen goes black, press and hold the volume down and power buttons simultaneously. This will bring up Android's bootloader menu. From here, press the volume down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode," then press the power button to select it.

Step 4: Install the ThemesBefore you flash anything in custom recovery, it's always a good idea to make a full backup of your existing setup. That's especially true in this case, since while there are revert ZIPs available, I've found that none of them seem to work. So restoring a current backup would be the easiest way to switch back to the stock theme if you decide these themes aren't for you.With that out of the way, go ahead and tap the "Install" button from TWRP's main menu. From there, navigate to your device's "Download" folder, then select any of the "Material_Dark" ZIP files to begin. If you're only flashing one theme, you can go ahead and swipe the slider at the bottom of the screen to install it at this point. Otherwise, tap the "Add More Zips" button and select your second theme. Repeat this process until all of your themes are queued up. Next, simply swipe the slider and your themes will be installed concurrently. When the process is finished, tap "Reboot System." When you get back up, you'll notice the Dark Material Design themes immediately. Background images are now a mellow grey, and text is colored with the blue-green hue found in many Lollipop menus. No more physical tape measure or ruler. No more guessing. Just whip out your iPhone, open the app, put your camera, and get measurements. Before you do, however, there are a few things you'll want to know.While similar apps have existed for some time, Apple's is the default choice now, at least, when first using AR to measure real-life 3D objects. You may eventually move onto more advanced tools, but Apple's stock measuring app isn't going to be any less accurate than third-party ones, so keep that in mind.Don't Miss: 10 New AR Features in iOS 12 for iPhone & iPad To use Measure, you need to have iOS 12 installed, but you can use any iPhone that supports iOS 12 â€” not just the newer iPhone X, XS, XS Max, or XR models.

View Measurement DetailsAfter you have measured a square or rectangular object, you can immediately see the area in the middle (you may have to move around slightly to get it to appear). If you tap that measurement, you'll be greeted with a popup displaying more information, as well as a quick conversion to the other units so that you can see imperial and metric at the same time. Aside from length x width and area, you'll also see the diagonal measurements.If you want to see a quick conversion of one side of the object, you can tap that measurement to see its imperial or metric equivalent. Either way you view the data, you can tap "Copy" to add it to your clipboard. When you paste it wherever, the information will show as your default unit system, either as area (dimensions, diagonal) or just the single measurement. Copied/pasted, these would show up as 25 sq in (5" x 5", 7" Diagonal) and 2", respectively.

Manually Measure & ScreenshotIf it's not a square or rectangle, or if it can't automatically give you details, you can manually measure objects instead. Point the cursor at something, tap the plus (+) icon to create a point, and then tap it again when you've drawn the line. The length will automatically appear.When measuring a polygon, tap the same dot you just ended on again to start a new line without erasing your previous line, that way you see all side measurements at the same time. Tap again to end the line and get the second measurement, then tap in the same spot to start the third one, and so on and so on.The "Copy" button won't appear for all measurements, so if you want to remember the details in these cases, you can tap the shutter button to take a screenshot. To add a note to the screenshot, tap its thumbnail when it appears. Whether you dismiss the thumbnail or edit it and save, the screenshot will be located in your "Screenshots" and "Camera Roll" albums in Photos. Manually do the work (left) and take a screenshot to save it after (right).

System RequirementsAny Samsung Galaxy device with stock TouchWiz and a base of Android 4.4 KitKat or higher Mac running OS X 10.6 or higher, or Windows PC with XP or higher

Step 1: Install the SideSync App for AndroidThe first half of the equation is an app that you can install on your Galaxy device. Open your Play Store app and search SideSync to get it installed. If you're having trouble finding it, try this link.

Step 2: Run SideSync for AndroidTo initiate the pairing between devices, you'll need to run SideSync for Android once. Skip through the feature tour by hitting Next, then launch the service with a press of the Start button. When you first start the SideSync service on your Galaxy device, the app will try to establish a Wi-Fi connection with your PC. It can't do this without the companion software installed on your Windows computer, but leave it on this screen nonetheless.

Step 3: Install SideSync for Your ComputerNext up, you'll need to install the SideSync companion software for your Mac or Windows machine. I'll be using a Windows PC, but the steps should be fairly similar for Macs.Mac download Windows download Depending on your setup, you may have to enter an administrator password to proceed. Next, click I accept the terms of the License Agreement, then follow the prompts for installation. You may be asked to install a DirectX plug-in, but again, just follow the prompts and you'll be fine. When installation is done, click Finish, and SideSync should come right up.

Step 4: Pair Your DevicesNext up, make sure that the SideSync software is running on both your phone and computer. If both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, you can toggle the switch in the program to allow for this type of connection. Otherwise, simply connect your phone to your PC using any USB cable, and SideSync mirroring will begin immediately. In the future, you'll simply need to run the SideSync program on your PC, then plug your device in to automatically launch screen mirroring.

Step 5: Using SideSync to Control Your GalaxySideSync will display the screen of your Galaxy device in a tidy frame that resembles your phone or tablet. The buttons on the bottom of this frame operate exactly as the buttons on your Galaxy device. A set of three controls resides at the top-right, allowing you to close, minimize, or maximize the window. In the upper left-hand corner, you'll find a few more options by clicking the down arrow button. These extra icons allow you to, in order from top to bottom, toggle mouse and keyboard sharing, keep this screen on top, rotate your display, take a screenshot, and view files stored on your Galaxy.Controlling the on-screen representation of your Galaxy with your mouse is simpleâ€”clicking the left mouse button behaves exactly as a touch event on your Galaxy. You can even perform long-press and swipe gestures.Another bonus feature is the ability to share clipboards between devices. Any text that you copy from your WIndows PC can be pasted into a field on your Galaxy, and vice-versa.Overall, touch latency is very low, and video refresh rate is top-notch. This is a great way to leave your phone or tablet plugged in and out of the way while at school or work, yet still have full control over your device. How well does SideSync work on your setup?
